It’s almost ‘back to school’ time (if you listen carefully you can hear the sound of muted cheering from parents across the land) and Smiggle has come up with a brilliant range of too cool for school gear in its autumn B2S offering.
From funky lunchboxes and backpacks to multi-compartment pencil cases and writing gear in shades which would make a unicorn happy, there is something for everyone.
If you’ve ever been in a Smiggle shop you’ll know that there isn’t a pastel hue missing nor a chance for sparkle or fluff missed. In fact, you’ll probably find a fair few self-respecting bloggers in there seeking inspiration from a Reversey Sequin Notebook and a scented gel pen or two.
Smiggle kindly sent Caitlin and Ieuan a selection from the B2S range which has the theme of ‘dream big’ and if you pick up their Sign Up To Be A Smiggle VIP leaflet, not only will you get 15% off your next purchase but you can enter a competition to win a whole year’s worth of Smiggle goodies!
Just get your kids to tell Smiggle what your hopes and dreams are for the new school year and they could be a winner.
Entry is via the competition form which you can find instore – simply complete and post there or enter online at www.smiggle.co.uk.
The competition closes at 5 pm BST on Tuesday 12th September.
We loved the bright cheerful designs, everything is sturdily made and should endure the daily rough and tumble of the school bag and there are plenty of Smiggle style clever touches – the Colourful Adventures Pop Up Pencil Case allows you to record a message for example and the Handbag Pencil Case comes with a gorgeous furry pompom which might find its way on to my key ring. The Smiggle watches are easy to set, easy for the kids to put on and easy to see in the dark!
So what are Caitlin and Ieuan’s hopes and dreams for the new school term?
Caitlin would like no homework but drama lessons from Star Wars’ Rey (actress Daisy Ridley), science lessons in telekinesis and teleportation and a class on how to make an invisibility cloak. She’d also like lessons in oil and water colour painting.
Ieuan is all about anything IT – he’d like more computer classes, some YouTube tutorials from Dan TDM, a lesson on how to make a light saber and some football coaching from Gareth Bale.
The Smiggle VIP leaflet also has a great goal chart for the kids to fill in which includes goals from loads of interesting categories – friendship, family, activity, collecting and even kindness. I might fill it in myself. After all, a goal is simply a dream with a deadline as they say.
Most interesting of all (to me as a parent anyway) is the “Things I would like to be able to do by myself” category. My two want to walk home from school on their own – largely on the basis that they are hoping for a mobile phone to accompany them.
I think I’ll be walking over to meet them for a while yet!
