I’ve always been interested in all things esoteric and arcane. I’ve had my own tarot cards for years and am totally fascinated with all psychic and paranormal phenomena. One of the areas of ancient knowledge that really intrigues me is numerology.
Numerology can be defined as “any belief in the divine or mystical relationship between a number and one or more coinciding events”.
It is the study of the numerical value of the letters in words, names and ideas and is often regarded as being a form of divination.
Johny Cusante is a professional numerologist who has studied this art for almost 20 years and was introduced to numerology in India in the 1980s. There he met a guru from Madras and was intrigued to see that he was asking people for their name and birth date. The guru told Johny that a person’s birth date and name is enough for a deep analysis of his life, his future, his past, as well as his fortune and misfortune. Johny became his student and lived in India for 5 years where he honed his numerology skills.
In his book “The Romance in Your Name” Johny explains “that our names are something more than a family relationship or just a means of identification, often surprises and shocks those presented with the precept that destiny and experience are written in our names given us at birth”.
Actually, if you think about it, numbers and names are everywhere. From our homes to clocks and calendars, statistics, phone numbers, we live in a mathematical world. As Johny says “there are no other means of communication – nor escape from this mathematical tabulation of mankind’s interests, desires and ambitions”.
Numerology can help us to know and understand ourselves and gain confidence that we are making the best choices for us – whether that be in our career, our finances or our romantic relationships.
Pythagoras, one of the ancient philosophers is generally accepted as the founder of numerology – the “Science of Numbers”.
Numerology today is based on Pythagoras’ ideas – that nature’s laws can be computed with mathematical precision as accurately as arithmetic or physics.
Names and numbers are symbols. They don’t make things happen on their own but they announce and broadcast the thoughts, feelings and actions taking place in our relationships.
A numerologist will ask you for your full name (the one you were given at birth and your current one) and your date of birth. By analysing the numerical values and patterns of the letters, the numerologist will then be able to analyse your character and make predictions based on the results.
The numerologist will also be able to tell you certain key numbers which will affect your destiny – for example, your Life Path number or your Heart’s Desire number. These numbers highlight different parts of you and your life.
The Life Path number is the most important number in your entire Numerology chart and is based on your date of birth. It shows who you are at birth and the characteristics you will carry with you for your entire life.
To give you an idea of how numerology works, to find your Life Path number you add together the month, date and year of your birth and reduce the total to a single digit.
So, I was born on 28 May 1964 – 28 + 5 + 1964 = 1997
1+9+9+7 = 26
2+6 = 8 – my Life Path number
My numerology chart will, therefore, contain an interpretation of the characteristics of those with a Life Path number 8.
What kind of problems can a numerology reading help with, you might be wondering. Well, there are loads.
Here is a selection of the kinds of thing a numerology reading from Johny Cusante can help you with.
Numerology is an interesting way of stopping to consider how numbers have defined you and the direction of your life. Whether or not you choose to believe the science of numbers, I have found character analysis by numerology to be uncannily incisive. The guidance you receive in your chart may allow you to reframe the questions about your life and give you a different perspective on how to solve your current challenges.
