It’s been a while since I did a #MySundayPhoto post and I’ve been missing them. The gorgeous weekend weather took us to Cardiff Bay which provides endless opportunities to try your hand at taking a decent photo. (I’m a work in progress!)
I very often moan about the fact that I have spent most of my life in Dinas Powys, once a village, now more of a dormitory town a few miles outside Cardiff.
But then I remember how close we are to the city centre with its fabulous shopping centres, that we have a world-class entertainment venue in the Wales Millennium Centre and, of course, the Principality Stadium for sports.
And, we are literally a 10-minute drive from Cardiff Bay with its bars, restaurants and shops.
On a beautiful day, there is nothing nicer than joining the thronging crowds to watch the boats sailing to and fro and to soak up the sunshine.
We took the kids to Cadwaladers for ice cream whilst watching the cruise boats dock for several hen parties and a hopeful party of men following them on board.
Old and young mingled together, some casually attired, others dressed to the nines – although if you do wear high heels, beware the boardwalk which skirts the water.
The sound of live singing drifted across the crowds on the breeze and, ignoring the occasional diving of a hungry gull, we could have been abroad.
We are so lucky to have all this on our doorstep.
