If you’re an avid reader on a budget, you’ll find loads of free and bargain books on this weekly book linky from Beck Valley Books. Here you’ll find a great selection of pre-loved reads plus all the new releases about to hit shelves and Kindles, all downloadable from Amazon.com.
How are you all this week? Ieuan has just returned from his school trip to the Tudor Manor, Llancaiach Fawr very excited because he got to lie down on a Tudor bed. He assures me that it was very comfortable (bit surprising frankly).
Caitlin has mastered riding her bike one-handed in time for next week’s Cycling Proficiency and the Husband is away in London but at least in the UK for a change.
I had a fabulous pampering session at Mwah in Cardiff and you can read my review here if you’re a local. In fact, I had a lovely Friday because, in the evening, the husband and I were invited to sample some French-inspired fine dining at Park House Restaurant. If you visit Cardiff it’s well worth a trip – and if you do visit Cardiff, be sure to say hello, won’t you?
In the meantime, it’s time to sort out Caitlin’s secondary school admission and we’re off to the open evening of her preferred school, St. Cyres in Penarth. Ieuan’s coming too and he can’t wait to see the fully fitted out gym and an indoor badminton court.
I went to St. Cyres from 1974 to 1982 and it is incredible to see how it has changed. It’s more like a college campus now than the old modern block and terrapin combination it was then. They have finally got rid of the desks with our chewing gum and graffiti on which were still there when I attended some evening classes on site in the 90’s! I think it’s safe to say Banksy definitely did not go to my old school.
Don’t forget my giveaway from Red Candy – a Poison Whiskey decanter and 2 Doomed shot glasses. There are plenty more fabulous giveaways in the pipeline including children’s clothing, table-top games and, of course, more great books so don’t forget to bookmark my giveaways page.
