Guest Post Submissions

Welcome to Mother Distracted and thanks for your interest in writing for us.  We are happy to accept relevant guest posts from other bloggers, parents and writers.

We are currently looking for contributors to submit one-off guest posts or to work with us on a longer basis as a monthly contributor or reviewer.

Note that, as a UK blog, preference will be given to UK-based writers.

How to submit:

Please email your topic ideas, copy and images to linda.hobbis@motherdistracted.co.uk for consideration.

Topics we are looking for:

  • Beauty, hair, skincare
  • Crafts
  • Family days out (especially in Wales)
  • Food (especially children’s nutrition)
  • Health (inc. children’s health)
  • Home decor, interiors, DIY, gardening
  • Menopause
  • Parenting, pregnancy, toddlers (especially tweens and teens)
  • Relationships
  • Travel

You don’t necessarily need a blog as we are happy to work with freelancers too.

Guest post guidelines

We accept previously unpublished guest posts in an article or round-up format.

An author bio and a backlink to your blog may be submitted with your copy. Links to other posts on your site may be included in your copy.

You may not include affiliate links or links to 3rd party commercial sites.  All links are checked before publication.

Guest posts are accepted from independent blogs, not blogs linked to a business or sales site.

Article submissions

Posts should be a minimum of 500 words

No profanity or adult content (e.g. alcohol, addiction, vaping, gambling, sexual content)

Photographs should be supplied with full credit (must be creative commons)

Articles which have clearly been generated by spinning software will not be accepted.

Articles which have been purchased as part of a PLR package will not be accepted.

Articles should be interesting, informative and offer value to the reader.

Round up submissions

Lists posts on a specific topic may be submitted, however, all links included must come with the permission of the original writer to use their copy and images.

Please ensure that your post has at least 12 links on the same topic and an introductory paragraph of at least 200 words.

Books & Ebooks

If you have a new book to promote you may submit a guest post to promote them.  If you require an independent review, please contact us for our rates.

Guest reviewers

We are regularly offered products to review which are suited to younger children (ours are 11 and 9) or for which we simply do not have sufficient time to review.

If you would like to be considered as a guest reviewer and can demonstrate solid experience in this area, please get in touch.

How you will benefit

If accepted, your post will come with your author bio and a link back to your site.

(Note that if you are a business or SEO agency, links may not be accepted.)

Your post will be shared to over 27,000 followers across my Social Media platforms and to my list of email subscribers (currently 1,200).  My current blog DA is 37.

Mother Distracted is currently ranked at position #54 out of 11,000 UK parenting blogs by Tots100.co.uk and reaches around 9,000 unique monthly visitors.
